The Presence of Mean and Rude

Posted on Jul 19th, 2006 by John D : Dominant Muse John D

The greatest opposition that we have to inspiration is not Satan or the Devil, but it is the human being that harbors the unnecessary and unproductive spirit of ugliness that manifests itself in behavior that is mean and rude and, most of the time, for no apparent reason.  Too often, we are downright mean and rude to one another without provocation and such behavior is in direct opposition to the law, the purpose, and the will of God, that is love.  Manners and courtesy, in many incubators, are forgotten traits and meanness and rudeness have taken over.

Once we allow our spirits to become transformed into anti-muse by anti-muse, we begin to oppose inspiration at all costs, first internally, then externally.  Once we have surrendered our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits to our disenchantment, we lose inspiration and positive energy.  Once we lose inspiration, the ugliness travels internally until it is manifests externally.  Ugly spirits manifest themselves in the form of mean and rude behavior.  Once we allow ourselves to wear the mask of ugliness, we are more prone to disrespect, to harm, to attack, and to fight.

The most dangerous creatures on Earth are the anti-muses, those persons, places, things, and ideas that minimize and seek to destroy our inspiration.  The ugliness - the meanness and rudeness - of anti-muse is real.  The ugliness of people hurts; the negativity of people kills.    We have a constant battle to fight; the fight is constant and ever-present.  The purpose and the goal of anti-muse are real.  Our opposition is not a mythic figure that seeks to steal from us, to harm us, or to end our lives, but it is the very person - who may or may not know us, but who comes into direct contact with us just to minimize or to destroy our inspiration.

Great post, I offer another virew from the same side:

“When we touch this domain, we are filled with the cosmic force of life itself, we sink our roots deep into the black soil and draw power and being up into ourselves. We know the energy of the numen and are saturated with power and being. We feel grounded, centered, in touch with the ancient and eternal rhythms of life. Power and passion well up like an artesian spring and creativity dances in celebration of life.”

Thanks for this post. What a fluid way to express the way IT really is in the world. We become what we focus on. Once we give in to negative thoughts, they can take over and manifest in a myriad of ways externally.

“…oneness may be attained by a common belief in God - the essence of perfect goodness.  For ages, the nations and people of the world have been, literally, up in arms over the name of God, the face of God, the Word of God, and the will of God when all God wants us to do is to inspire one another with love.” Thank you John ! You said it. This is now, and shall remain, one of my all-time favorite quotes.

Interesting.  I have a friend who has sparked soooo much creativity in me because of the unconditional support and enjoyment he has given to me and my artistic aspirations.  And then there are those who love us and care for us and still suck the very joy out of our existence.

Not only do we need to be careful of what we say to those we barely know, we must also be careful of how we treat those we love.

There's a wonderful book (Words That Hurt…Words That Heal) by Joseph Telushkin that I recommend highly.  I found it at the library and loved it enough to order it from Amazon.
